2024 brought a lot of change. Not only economically but Skipper Family Farms, Est. 1912, made history.
The first Christmas Tree that was cut and paid for on our farm.
It may not seem like a big deal to you, but it is to us! We started this venture four years ago and hoped it would be the right fit for our farm. And boy was it ever! No! We didn't get rich with money! No! It wasn't easy! And, no it didn't get the farm out of debt!
What it did do was make us rich with the friends and relationships we built with each and every customer that came in. The memories are priceless!
It was long hard days that start in January with pruning trees, planting trees, fertilizing, watering, and watching for disease all year long. More pruning even when the weather is hot and miserable. You don't just plant a tree and watch it grow!
We planted our first trees four years ago, pruned them four to five times each year. Fertilized them and watered when the droughts set in. We fought diseases off and fought extreme temps from lows to highs.
Ask me if it was worth it! Absolutely!
The memories made with families are priceless and worth every second of hard work put into it.
We hired some great kids to help us this year during our Christmas season! I cannot express how proud we were of them! They were hard working, courteous, and greeted each customer with a smile.
Our gift shop opened this Christmas also. We were fortunate to have some really great products and items to get us started. We served hot cocoa, hot coffees, hot cider,
and had a great selection of baked goods, along with our pecans, jams, syrups, and sauces. We even had our own special Christmas blend of coffee this year.
Santa and Mrs. Clause made an appearance on Black Saturday.

Even the Grinch made an appearance, and his heart grew mega times over that day!
We just wanted to share some photos with you and share a little snip about our 2024 Christmas season with you as we begin our 2025 with pruning and planting again. We hope to see you this year on the farm, even if it's just a quick visit.
Please enjoy the photos and hopefully next year, you'll come make memories with us!
