Well, we had a very busy Spring with lots of markets.
We did the Cherry Blossom, better known as, the Mulberry Street Arts and Crafts Show, then moved on to the Dogwood Festival in Perry, which was our first time doing that one. It was a great success! We brought very little back home. We had two young ladies that helped us, and they knocked it out of the park. We couldn't have done it without them.
The store is in a little disarray at the moment.
I am working on getting things back in and set up for Summer and Fall openings. We are part of the Farm Passport Trail and we haven't had a lot to offer our guests lately, but now that most all our markets are over, we can concentrate on welcoming visitors once again. Stay tuned for that update!
The Beautiful Christmas Trees
The Christmas trees have all been pruned and fertilized with granular for the first of four treatments. We now begin to spray herbicide on the rows to keep the grass from taking up all their nutrients.
And once again, Pecans are looking toward a good harvest.
We pray that God blesses us with a prosperous crop. We are doing our part and it's just up to God to supply us with the crop! We are hoping to be able to do our own cracking and shelling so we don't have to send to a processor to do that. We will only shell our nuts. We are not opening that part to the public because we just want that to be a part of our packaging service. We are thinking, if our crop is plentiful, we will offer some bags of in shell nuts for those that prefer to shell their own.
We are still in the discussing phase of any Fall activities.
We have been planning to do school trips with some of the local schools. We will see how all that goes! There's a lot to still plan out such as where we get little pumpkins for them to paint, what activities will we add for them, etc., etc. That's definitely a work in progress since we haven't done that before.
This year's Christmas season will be one you don't want to miss.
We have several events going on this year. We kick off our Christmas season on November 15th with a Spirit of Christmas Festival. This one will be a night festival. My vision is to make it look like something out of Hallmark. There will be a tree lighting and also, the Perry Chamber of Commerce will do our ribbon cutting that evening as well. Then on November 22nd, we have a really special treat for you. We will have a live outdoor concert that will be performed while building our live Nativity. You absolutely do not want to miss that one! Then on November 24th, we will officially open our trees for the 2025 cutting. Yes, we are opening earlier this year to accommodate those that make a tradition of a Thanksgiving tree. We will have special appearances of Santa, Elf on the Shelf, and the Grinch. And as always, we will have our free hayrides and smores going.
The gift shop will be stocked to the brim this year. Last year, we had a very tight budget and limited time. Our giftshop wasn't as full as I had hoped. This year, we will be bringing in a couple more consignees and adding a few more options of our own. Every year is a work in progress for sure! It takes time and money and a whole lot of work. We even changed our logo a tiny bit!
We also partnered up with a few organizations this year.
We are proud members of the Better Business Bureau in Macon, The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce, and The Perry Chamber of Commerce.
And as always,
we continue to work with several businesses and a local college to offer our corporate gifts. We can customize any size basket and build to any size budget. This is the fun part where we really get to be creative.
We did have a few hiccups along the way,
but we worked through those. So, all in all, we had a great 2024 and 2025 is looking promising as well. We would like to thank each and every one that supports us in all we do. We couldn't do with without your support.
And like our mission statement says:
